The IWA (International Women’s Academy) recently hosted a Fashion Show fundraiser in order to raise money for an Indian Girls orphanage (Home of Hope). This was also the British International School, Phuket’s CAS project for IB. We worked as a group and organized an evening of games and activities for girls in Years 3 – 6, which ended with a spectacular fashion show where the girls showed off their different styles.
We hope everyone had fun in the range of activities from water games to slime making, before getting their hair and makeup done for the show. Thanks to the participation of over 30 girls, we were able to raise around 16,000 baht for the girls orphanage!
It was a great experience for all of us learning how to plan, organize, advertise and carry out an event. We had to work through a variety of different challenges from trying to publicize our event in the best way possible to dealing with last minute weather changes. I believe that it taught us all a lot about how much effort actually goes into these events and about teamwork to help you get the job done!
