Flexible Boarding Services are available both Daily and Weekly, We cater for all family needs.
Boarding is an integral part of the life of the school. The boarding houses are located close to the main school buildings. Boarders enjoy a high standard of accommodation, easy access to educational and sporting facilities, and the chance to enjoy all the opportunities of school life to the full.
Perhaps the most important of these opportunities is the time spent building friendships which will no doubt endure throughout their time at the school and their lives beyond.
Students living in boarding learn the value of being a contributing member of a community. They also learn the discipline of personal responsibility.
Boarding Activities
What a lot of boarding activities!
The last two weekends in boarding have been fun filled
for all our boarders.
On Friday 3rd October our junior house went for a
quick shopping trip to Robinsons in Phuket Town, so
that they could pick up essential supplies (including
pens and pencils and noodles) for the week. For our
older students the sports hall was open and staffed by
a PE Assistant to help them set up the games. Friday
night is also a time to relax and "chill" after a hard
week of study.
For the seniors, Saturday started with a sports session at 10 am, with the choice between running, futsal,
basketball, badminton or walking. The juniors started Saturday with some time doing craft activities with the staff on duty and they were allowed some time to play on the computers. In the afternoon the seniors had the opportunity to go to Central, and the juniors went off to play mini-golf at
Dino Park in Karon Beach. The day rounded off with a big screen movie in the open BBQ area, with a very
popular concession stand. Sunday was a quieter day, with a lie in optional for our seniors. In house activities for the juniors kept them busy until lunchtime. In the afternoon all the boarders on site joined in some team building games. They were
split into multi house groups, so each group had boys and girls, juniors and seniors. All involved had lots
of fun, and leadership qualities started to emerge in our older students, and teamwork qualities in all. The
weekend ended up with a homework session for all, a private reading time for the juniors, and an early night
to prepare for school the following day.
The following weekend was just as busy. Friday evening consisted of games in the sports hall, open to all, and
a movie in the junior house. Saturday saw the morning sports session, a mixed age group 10 pin bowling and
a large group trying their skills at archery, with some even getting bull's eyes on their first attempt.
Sunday saw the junior house paying respect at the "big Buddha" near Rawai, with a quick stop at Central
on their return. Some of the older students and staff had prepared games and activities for children from the
SOS village. Unfortunately, however, the children had to cancel their visit at the last minute, much to the
disappointment of the boarders involved.
The next two weekends could be as busy, as trips are being planned to Central, the Gibbon Project, Phuket Town, and a local fishing lake. More activities will be added in the coming days, making the choice of what to do a difficult one for all our full boarders.
