BISP’s Summer School programme offers something for everyone. From Tennis, Football and Trapeze, to English and Adventure Sports. For fun or to hone a skill; for morning’s only, full days or camp based. It is our aim to create a programme that is right for you. Led by experienced, energetic and highly qualified Directors, teachers, coaches and support staff who teach through the medium English and with additional language support in Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Swedish, Norwegian, German, Danish and Thai.

A strong staff : student ratio is in place with the students safety being our number one priority. Based on our 44 acre campus in the heart of Phuket, only 30 minutes from the airport we are conveniently placed for all activities and attractions. Our campus is situated on 44 acres of lush green land, and with extensive facilities including football pitches, indoor and outdoor tennis centre, fully refurbished sports centre, golf SNAG course, 50 metre and 25 metre swimming pools and multiple football pitches. For those staying on campus and joining the full camp programme, accommodation is in a mixture of single or twin rooms with either private, twin shared or communal bathrooms. Older boys and girls are in separate houses, whilst the younger children share, but are separated with a boys and girls floor.

Week 1. July 2-8,

Week 2. July 9-15,

Options to join:

– From 1 week to 4 weeks and as:

– Camp students (Sunday – Saturday of each week);

– Full Day students (Monday – Friday 08:30-18:00 of each week);

– Half Day students(Monday – Friday 08:30-12:30 of each week).

Half Day Morning Programme:

For the MORNING sessions from Monday-Friday 08:30-12:30, all students choose from one of the following options: English, Tennis, Football, Trapeze or Adventure Sports.

English:

Students will follow the Cambridge English Young Learners & Cambridge English Framework course during the morning sessions as they develop their language & communication skills in English. Students are tested at the beginning of the programme and placed in the appropriate age and level group for their learning levels. At the end of every week students will take a progress test, and at the end of the 4 week period if they are aged 8-12, they can sit the appropriate YLE test.

Specifically created by Paul Preen, BA DipT ESOL MA.Ed, Qualified Cambridge English Instructor & Trainer, an experienced Camp Coordinator and Coordinator of BISP’s ESL programme and led by Dan Hogfelt a qualified teacher and ESL Teacher Trainer. Class sizes are a maximum of 1 teacher, and 1 assistant to 20 students. Students joining the English programme can expect to learn in a stimulating environment, encouraged by supportive, professional teachers. Teaching is flexible so that learning builds quickly on what students already know. It offers the opportunity for those who wish to learn for fun in a stimulating social environment or for those who wish to obtain a recognized qualification.

Tennis:

Under the year long direction at BISP by Briton Lee Austrin, the RPT National Director of Thailand the Summer programme will again be directed by Rachna Sharma and her team of highly qualified full time BISP RPT Tennis coaches. The RPT Tennis coaching system is one of the most successful systems in the world and has produced some of Tennis’ greats. The morning sessions will be tailored to 6 per group to ensure high levels of tuition for all levels and ages and include technical, tactical, physical & mental training along with game practice.

Football:

Throughout the year, this BISP programme is led by Jonathas Candido, AFC- C License coach, CBF – Football Brazilian Confederation. The Cruzeiro methodology systematically develops key football attributes whilst allowing children to play with confidence and a smile. Led by a strong team of Cruzeiro qualified coaches these morning sessions will focus on the 4 pillars of football training: technical, tactical, physical & psychological and aims to create a friendly and inclusive environment allowing expression, creativity, respect for others & a love of football to flourish. Group sizes will be a maximum of 1:15.

Trapeze (& Aerial Circus):

Based on the Cirque Ed Program which runs at BISP throughout the year, during these morning sessions, students will work with our highly experienced resident team, whilst learning skills such as the Flying Trapeze, Silk Hammock, Static Trapeze, Rope, Acrobalance, Climbing Wall, Swinging Trapeze, Ladder Balance, Bungy bounce, Adagio & Juggling. Children will develop core strength, flexibility, co-ordination, confidence, fitness and concentration. Students learn to work towards goals and overcome fears and self doubt. All of this in a positive environment where students work together rather than against each other to succeed. Quite simply this program reinforces in children the powerful lesson that “Nothing is impossible and you can achieve anything with self belief and persistence”… Class sizes of 1:5.

Adventure Sports:

Created for those students who enjoy being active, during these morning sessions students will have an opportunity to test their teamwork skills and their stamina with a range of activities both on and off campus. Including football, basketball, dodgeball, volleyball, badminton, tennis, pool games, and surf house, 50Fly, Anthem Wake Park, Zorbing, Splash Jungle, Island Safari, ATV, Muay Thai, Extreme Adventure, Learn to Dive, Snorkelling, Indoor Climbing Walls, and much much more…

Afternoon Programme (Monday – Friday):

After lunch at 12:30 the HALF DAY MORNING ONLY students depart.

Full Day and Camp students stay on and take part in a mixture of On and Off Campus Activities until 17:30.

Dinner is from 17:30 until 18:00.

At 18:00 FULL DAY students go home

Evening & Weekend Programme:

After 18:00 Monday – Friday CAMP Students take part in activities

On Saturdays and Sundays if Camp students are staying on they will join in On & Off Campus Activities

On Campus activities range from making use of the superb and extensive facilities at BISP including large outdoor grass areas, football pitches, tennis centre, fully refurbished sports centre, golf SNAG course, 50 metre and 25 metre swimming pools, indoor halls and auditoriums.
