Scholarships at British International School, Phuket

Scholarship applications for the 2022-2023 academic year are being accepted now and will close on 1 May 2022.
Dr. Arthit Scholarship
These scholarships will be awarded for academic potential at the level of the IB Diploma. They will be based upon proven academic excellence, and the potential for the student to have a positive impact upon others.
Travel expenses and the cost of external examinations, uniform and laptop are not included in the scholarship award.
Internal Academic (all internal students are automatically entered for these):
This is awarded to the top performing IGCSE student each year.
Number of awards: One
Nature of the Award: Full tuition fees for one academic year. (Or 50% for two years of the IB programme)
Minimum qualifications: 8 A* in the June examinations.
This is awarded for outstanding success at IGCSE.
Number of Awards: Two
Nature of award: 50% reduction in tuition for one year.
Minimum qualifications: 6 or more A* or A in the June examinations
- Awards will be given to the top three students only; all other grades will be taken into account if the number of A* or A is equal.
- All recipients of the IGCSE Ribands will receive a personal plaque recording his or her success.
- The Award will be acknowledged in all applications for tertiary education by recipients.
Visual Arts Scholarship
Candidates must have an A* at IGCSE level or equivalent, and should be able to show this work upon application, or demonstrate their ability by showing a minimum of 10 pieces in a portfolio.
We are interested in seeing what steps candidates have also taken to publicly exhibit their work. This could also be on a social media platform.
It is expected that candidates will have the desire to excel in IB Visual Arts and will put in the time and commitment it takes to achieve this. Candidates should also have an interest in giving back to our art community and we will support this with our CAS programme.
The candidate should be passionate about studying an art based course at University upon completion of the IB Visual Arts Course.
Swimming, Tennis, Golf:
Awards in these sports will be dependent upon national rankings or independently demonstrated levels of high ability (times; rankings; handicaps). These scholarships will be awarded following decisions made by the Athletics Director and Head Coach. In some cases this will follow a trial or other evidence of high performance.
Typically these awards will go to athletes with national representation honours, or those who demonstrate the exceptional ability, and desire, to become professional athletes.
These scholarships will be awarded following decisions made by the Athletics Director and Head Coach. In most cases this will follow a trial or other evidence of high performance. It is expected that the scholarships will be awarded to students who have the ability and desire to play the sport at a professional level.
For those students expected to attend a trial, please note there is a 5000thb fee which includes a detailed coaching report for each athlete.
