BISP Wai Kru 2014 was held on Thursday 18th September.
About two weeks before Wai Kru Day, BISP held several activities that allowed students to participate and be part of this event, such as the Essay Contest run in cooperation between the Thai Studies and English departments. With the topic “My Ideal Teacher ”, participants chose to write their essay either in Thai or English.
Congratulations to the winners of the Thai essay; Chayamas Thonggerd in Year 8, Panwad Pantaratorn in Year 10, and Isariya Nirakkanaporn in Year 13, and the winners of the English essay; Tanylle Ashenden in Year 9, Rica Ueda in Year 10, and Sherry Kim in Year 12.
There was also flower garland ordering organised by the student council. The idea was to give students the opportunity to show their respect and gratitude to their teachers by sending them flower garlands. Nearly 300 orders were made.
It was very impressive to see both Thai and foreign students collecting their flower garlands right after the Wai Kru ceremony, and handing them to their teachers. Moreover, The IB students had fun arranging flowers trays and they came out very beautifully.
The Thai Studies department would like to say a big thank you all BISP teachers and students for making this year’s Wai Kru a huge success.
