“Moving on is never easy, no matter how prepared we are for the journey it always begins with a step into uncertainty,” says BISP Headmaster Neil Richards.

“However, it is my hope that you are able to take these first steps into a new life not only with confidence, but also with a degree of humility.

“You have had a privileged education, and one that will make you much better prepared than many to face the challenges imposed by an increasingly global world, yet one still struggling with bigotry and prejudice.

“Take strength from the many friendships that have been forged here in Phuket at the British International School, and remember that you will always remain a part of our community no matter where your journey may take you.

“Thank you for your many contributions to the life of the school and best wishes for every success.”

“Congratulations to our graduating Class of 2016,” adds BISP Secondary Principal Simon Meredith. “This is one of the largest cohorts to graduate from BISP, however I’m sure that record will not stand for long.

“The very nature of international schools mean many students and families come and go in the period of 13 or more years. However, of our graduating class, 21 percent of students have been here for more than 13 years. Indeed, quite a few students of our 2016 cohort came to BISP when they were just 18 months old.

“This total group of students represents 17 different countries, including: England, Korea, Sweden, Thailand, Russia, Germany, Australia, France, Indonesia, Canada, Congo, Singapore, Philippines, Norway, Malaysia, Afghanistan and the Netherlands, and with their preferred choice of university they will move to many countries around the world.

“We thank you all for your many and varied contributions to the school community and look forward to hearing of your successes and life long ventures. Stay in touch and you are always welcome back to share your experiences and wisdom.”
