The BISP Cruzeiro Football Academy U13 team arrived at the Bangkok International Youth Football Festival 2015 on the back of months of hard work and preparation, including league games against older age categories.

This dedication paid off in the Group games on the first day, with BISP Cruzeiro comfortably qualifying for the quarter-finals having finished in third place. Results for the first day were 1 draw, 2 narrow losses and 3 wins. The defeats came against strong and physically imposing opposition, and the team showed great discipline and work-rate in both games.

The second day opened with a quarter final defeat against eventual cup winners Jakarta Dragon. Again, our young side faced a tough physical challenge but held their own, only conceding in the final minutes of the game to lose 1-0.

Having dropped into the Shield competition following the quarter final, the team chalked up three consecutive wins against FC Bangkok, BSL Athletico and YFI, conceding just one goal and scoring 5 goals, to comfortably win the Shield competition.

The application shown by the team was fantastic over the course of the weekend. In total the boys scored 11 goals and conceded just 6.

It was a great effort by a young team which will only continue to develop and grow in the months to come.
