The Vocab Express League of Champions 2017 started yesterday, on Thursday 28th September at 2pm. British International School, Phuket’s students have been working hard in both the Primary and Secondary schools, sharpening their vocabulary knowledge in French, Mandarin and Spanish.
The competition is open to schools across the world and runs until 4th October 9:30pm.
The students are competing as individuals and also as a school – scoring after the first day shows that our school is up there with the best in the world.
Despite having 6 hours less to work on the competition than, say, schools in the UK, our school is coming 2nd in the world for Mandarin and 2nd in the world for Spanish.
Individually, at one stage, we had students placed first in the world in both Spanish and Mandarin. Currently, they stand at 2nd in the world (Jun Seo Park (Eddy) for Mandarin) and 4th in the world (Andrey Surkov for Spanish).
We wish them the best of luck for the rest of the competition.
