On Friday November 6, a group of British International School, Phuket (BISP) Year 12 and Year 13 students took a trip to the Class Act Media office in Kathu, home to The Phuket News (English), Novosti Phuketa (Russian), and Pujidao Xinwen (Chinese) newspapers, as well as Live 89.5 radio, and Phuket News TV.
The students met with the team there to dicsuss the role of media in modern society, which they are currently covering as a part of their course in first language studies.
The students had a chance to interview two high profile journalists from Novosti Phuketa, Anton Makhrov and Daria Suleiman, who were both working for top online Russian newspapers in Moscow before coming to the island.
The IB students also had an opportunity to visit the TV and radio studios, where they attempted reading news on the air, and one of our students was interviewed by DJ Chris, live during his morning show.
