Whilst representing Seychelles at the Commonwealth Games 2018 in Australia, BISP swimmer Samuele Rossi managed to set two national records within 2 hours.
Sam competed in the 50m breaststroke, and set a new national record of 29.82 seconds. He then competed in a two-man swim off to be named the 18th fastest swimmer at 29.41 seconds, breaking his own national record within two hours.
“It has been a great learning experience for Sam, who has now shown, on more than one occasion, that he can perform at an international level. He must now focus and prepare for the Youth Olympic Games in October, where the event will be just as competitive,” said BISP Swim Academy Head Coach Colin Braund.
“I would like to thank BISP Coaches Colin and Hayley, and my Seychelles teammates and coach at the games. Without their support, I would not have been able to perform so well,” said Sam upon his return to BISP.
