The Under 11s girls traveled to Thanyapura to play in a football tournament on Saturday 11 October. Headstart were the only opposition to enter in the age range so the arrangement was to play them twice over the course of the morning.

In the grueling heat the girls managed a hard fought 0-0 draw in the first game and then went on to give the team its first taste of victory by winning 1-0 in the second leg.

There was a particularly impressive performances from goalkeeper Malika Primarolla, who made several impressive saves in both games, while the winning goal was scored by Olivia Douglas who created the majority of the team’s chances.

Jazzmin Conrad was also constantly lively and caused the opposition problems in both games. She was well supported by other midfield players Natcha Forgsrisin, Katie Thompson, Charlotte De Rocher de la Baume and Olivia Fredin who also played one half in goal.

Katya Mallia led the attack and was a constant threat with her fast pace, but unfortunately had to limp off near the end of game two after injuring her foot. In both games the defense was extremely busy fighting off wave after wave of attack from the physically stronger opposition.

Kira Gaeble, Alisa Langer and Natasha Morgan shared the brunt of the work with special mention going to Olivia Fredl whose tacking was solid and distribution from the back much improved.

Once again the girls played with a great spirit and supported one another on and off the pitch. A well deserved rest over half term holiday is coming up and then we will be training hard in preparation for the BISP Soccer 7s on 7-8 November.
