Four teams, made up predominantly of BISP students, took part and two additional teams featured BISP parents. BISP swim coach, Quinn Beattie, was also part of the winning team, completing the swim leg of race.
The event was a resounding success, with all three teams on the Open Category podium comprising members of the BISP triathlon community.
BISP Triathlon Academy Head Coach, Zane Castro, says: “This event was a wonderful chance for our younger triathletes to compete with the older members of our High Performance Academy and race as part of a team.
“Results were secondary, but it was very satisfying to see not only one of our student teams victorious, but the team fully comprising BISP parents coming second, and a parent also in the team placed third.
“Despite being typically an individual sport, triathlon at the highest level is introducing some team opportunities in the format emulated at this event. It very much suits the personality of the sport, which is community-focused and about supporting each other,” Coach Zane explains.
Congratulations to all the BISP athletes and parents who braved the humidity and showed fantastic teamwork.
