Boarding Life

The Boarding Family

A dedicated team of staff care for the boarders, fostering a mutually supportive family atmosphere. In each boarding house the team is led by resident house parents, assisted by interns, matrons, nurses and housekeeping.

Routine and knowing what to expect every day is an important “scaffold” for our young people. All houses promote daily routines including twice-daily roll calls, house briefings, allocated study time, and age appropriate bed-times.

Students are encouraged to use technology to support their studies and to communicate with their families. However, the use of the school network is monitored, and age appropriate restrictions are placed on devices at certain times.

Trips and Activities

Campus facilities for physical and sporting activities are exceptional, and in addition to the whole school activity programs, interns supervise activities for boarding students.

There is a scheduled programme of supervised off-campus trips such as: snorkelling, wakeboarding, zorbing, kayaking and off road quad-biking, as well as more sedate pastimes including cinema, beach visits, restaurants and shopping centres.

Special Events

The boarding community comes together for special events, most notably the annual Christmas Dinner, but also Houses celebrate students’ birthdays. With parental approval, Boarders are welcome to take weekend exeats to visit friends or family and can invite friends from the school community to stay.

During the school year, when major events are held on campus, the boarding community will be increased by guest students from other international schools. Although these students will not share the same boarding houses as our resident community, this provides valuable opportunities for student interaction with other visiting schools.

Arrival and Departures

For students travelling independently we can schedule transfers to and from Phuket International Airport, which offers direct flights to many regional cities. All transfers are by school minibus. Alternatively parents may make their own arrangements for travel to/from school.
