On Thursday 1st November all the Nursery and Reception children in Early Years celebrated Outdoor Classroom Day. Outdoor Classroom Day is a global campaign to celebrate and inspire outdoor learning and play. This year, over 3.4 million children from 28,286 school around the world were involved!

Activities at BISP included: a scavenger hunt, a campfire and toast, a water carrying challenge, creating art with natural objects, volcanoes in the sandpit, painting and threading leaves, painting rocks and then we cooled off with ice-lollies! Our Early Years team believes that outdoor learning improves children’s health, engages them with learning and leads to a greater connection with nature. Play not only teaches critical life skills such as resilience, teamwork and creativity, but is central to children’s enjoyment of childhood.
