LAMDA

Mind your speech a little lest you should mar your fortunes.
(Shakespeare)

The importance of good verbal communication skills in the modern world is acknowledged through the school’s association with the London Academy of Music and the Dramatic Arts (LAMDA). As a mandatory component of the curriculum in Years 7-9, each year culminates in ‘voice’ examinations for all three year groups. These are conducted by a visiting LAMDA examiner.

Students following courses in Theatre Arts at the level of IGCSE or IB diploma are also examined externally by LAMDA.

In 2017 and again in 2018, students from the school have won national speech competitions and represented Thailand in the British Council Sponsored English Speaking Union event in London. To have done so in two consecutive years, in competition with University students, is an accomplishment of which the school is justly proud.
