Last Wednesday (4 February), the Primary library at British International School, Phuket (BISP) opened their doors in the evening for a special Harry Potter Night.
And what a sight it was: Magic potions on display, golden snitches flying around, fairy lights, a Room of Requirements, golden coins, bird cages… even the bathroom became the ‘Chamber of Secrets’! All these contributed to creating a spooky and magical atmosphere to help children step right into the world of Harry Potter.
Altogether, 36 students from Y3, Y4 and Y5 took part in the event, each taking their turns at the Sorting Hat ceremony to be placed in one of the Hogwarts houses.
After that the evening became a competition over various activities to gain points for their houses, including a fancy dress contest, a magic potions contest, a ‘Pottertionary’ (Pictionary Harry Potter style!), a treasure hunt and a quiz to test their knowledge on Harry Potter.
Many thanks to our four members of staff who impersonated the heads of Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Slytherin, and Hufflepuff, and who looked like they were having just as much fun as the students.
A fun evening enjoyed by all. And many thanks to all the parents who sent in photos of the event. See you all next year for another Harry Potter Night at BISP!
