Greetings from the ILC.

This week it has been rewarding for us to see so many parents taking English classes at the ILC. This time we are offering three different English language courses of various levels that should accommodate our adult students’ needs and abilities.

English as a foreign language class (pre-intermediate level) takes place twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays (8 – 9am) while the intermediate level group will be meeting every Monday and Wednesday (8 – 9am). For more advanced users of English we will be running a conversation club every Friday (8 – 9am) at Kata house.

All three groups are full now, so should you still like to join it please e-mail [email protected] to discuss the best option for you.

We are also discussing an opportunity of running another Thai course for BISP parents this term. Once we have everything confi rmed we will advertise the course shortly.

On a separate subject, the Intensive English Course (IEC) students now seem to have settled in. Starting from this week, September 9th 2013, in addition to 18 hours of intensive English lessons with our two ESL trained teachers (Mr Morse and Mr Meinhart), the IEC students have started attending BISP secondary mainstream classes such as Drama, Design Technology (DT), Art, Physical Education (PE), Music and Information and Communications Technology (ICT). Furthermore, they are having core subject lessons in English, Maths and Science with Secondary teachers. On Tuesdays and Thursdays the IEC students will also be taking part in a range of after school activities from 2.45-3.45 pm which they have chosen for themselves. With all that put in place we hope they will be able to master their English to be able to enter the mainstream next school term.
