Yesterday (26 January), Mr Marco Luly visited the school to conduct a workshop in the theatre of Italy: Commedia dell Arte. He spent two hours with each of the classes in IG Drama and IB Theatre.
It was a mixture of the physical and the theory. And memorable for some of his points. ‘We have an on stage body and an off stage body.’ ‘Between action and reaction there is stillness.’
But my favourite was this. ‘Yes we can have fun on stage but it does not mean giggling.’
Mr Luly is from Rome and visits many schools in Southeast Asia. He has flown onto Chaing Mai today. We thank him for offering his wisdom to us.
