Recently, the Phuket International Schools Athletic Conference (PISAC) Football Development League 2018 took place between British International School, Phuket – BISP, UWCT, Headstart International School and Kajonkiet International School (KIS). Competitions were held in the same age groups that will be used for this weekend’s BISP Soccer 7s tournament. Many of the BISP teams use this as an opportunity to gain competitive experience in preparation for the massive tournament.

BISP U15 Girls football PISAC 2018All the teams played well at PISAC, here’s a detailed account of the BISP U15 Girls team:

In their 1st match, the BISP U15 Girls ran out 4-1 winners against UWCT. The scorers were Celine (2), Naylea and Mimi. The second match against Headstart 1 was a little more closely-fought with Celine scoring a late goal (her 2nd of the match) to make the final score 3-0. The other scorer was Naylea.

In BISP’s 3rd match against KIS, the opposition goalkeeper put in an inspired performance, keeping shot after shot out of the net. The final score was a 1-1 draw after KIS equalised Celine’s goal with a late one of their own. The girls went into their final game knowing that a victory would secure them the trophy. A great attacking display saw them swiftly move into an 8-0 lead before the game was stopped due to lightning, with the result standing as it was. The scorers were Celine, Naylea, Saniiat (2), Coco (2), Mimi and Mya. This victory meant that the U15 Girls lifted the PISAC trophy with 3 victories and one draw, scoring 16 goals and conceding 2.

BISP U11 Boys football PISAC 2018The BISP Under 11 Boys also played a great tournament, in which they won all their games, until unfortunately losing the deciding game against Headstart ending at 1-0.

BISP U11 Girls football PISAC 2018The U11 Girls Football team won against UWCT team 1, team 2 and recorded a win over Headstart. In their final game of the evening however, they lost 1-0 to KIS in a very close game.

BISP U9 Girls football PISAC 2018The Under 9 Girls Football team greatly improved their skills and understanding of the game, as individuals and as a team.

The BISP Senior Boys team defeated UWCT in the semi-finals and in the final drew 0-0 with Headstart. After a very tense series of penalties, Headstart missed their sixth penalty and Fin stepped up and smashed home his penalty to give victory to BISP.BISP O15 Boys Football PISAC 2018
