In January, the BISP Cruzeiro Football teams travelled to Harrow International School Bangkok for the Harrow Cup. A total of 70 student athletes represented British International School, Phuket in what was a very competitive tournament.
The event was well organized during which our teams competed against very good teams, raising the level of the tournament and pushing our players to bring their A game. In the Champions League, BISP U9 Boys came in 3rd place, U13 A Boys 1st place, U15 Boys 3rd place and U15 Girls 5th place. In the Premier League, U13 Girls came in 1st place, U11 Boys 3rd place and U13 B Boys 1st place.
“Our teams played smart and with passion. We have achieved some great results across all age groups, but more important is the fact that we played very well and it proved to be an excellent experience for all the players! Everyone incorporated the ‘the Cruzeiro way‘ of playing, which entails good ball possession, solid defense and keeping the focus on scoring goals,” commented BISP Football Head Coach Jonathas Candido.
On the 10th, 11th, 12th & 14th of February, the 3rd edition of the PKRU Cup (previously known as the University Cup) will be held at Phuket Rajabhat University. This is a great honour for our U18 Boys taking part. BISP previously emerged victorious in this tournament, and a school representative was presented the trophy by Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali in Bangkok.
Please note: The Senior Games at Regents in Pattaya, that were scheduled to be held 1st – 3rd February, have been cancelled due to current atmospheric conditions. However, this weekend (2nd February), we have arranged several friendly football matches starting 8am! U9, U11, U13, U15 and U18 football teams will be playing. Please come and support our athletes!
