Chathu and Vichi Nilaweera have been competing in the Under 14 ATF (Asian Tennis Federation) which features some of Asia’s best 14 & Under players. Today Chathu made easy work of his semi final opponent 6-3, 6-0 to reach tomorrow’s final. Vichi aged 10 has also had a great tournament in this, his second ATF – although he lost in his semi final match. A good lesson for him, however, against an older and stronger opponent. Although Vichi has a long way to go – time is on his side and tomorrow he will compete for 3rd or 4th place. Chathu and Vichi have also just won the doubles in the semi final together 6-0, 6-4 which means they will also play in the finals match tomorrow. Great achievements and tennis from both boys.
Meanwhile Bass (Wasupon Malikao) has been competing in the Southern Thailand Tennis Competition in Trang, and yesterday comfortably won the final against his Trang opponent 6-2, 6-0. He also won the doubles event 6-2, 6-1.
