On Friday 1 April, 17 students of 7B and their form tutors headed to Banana Beach, north of Layan, armed with gloves, heavy duty bin bags and plastic bins (and a lot of suncream!).
As part of raising students’ awareness of our local environment and community, the students decided to take part in a beach clean up. For an hour and a half, they scoured the beach collecting a wide array of debris.
The students returned to school with 34 full bags and a better understanding of the need to protect the island’s flora, fauna, and coastal areas.
