BISP once again hosted its much-loved curriculum swimming galas, welcoming students from Nursery to Year 6 to take part in a week of fun, challenge and aquatic learning.
Despite the recent storms, which saw some events being cancelled or postponed, the 25m pool was transformed into Pirate Island for the Early Years and Key Stage 1 galas., During the events, students embarked on a journey through six pirate-themed activity stations. Designed to showcase a range of fundamental aquatic skills, the stations offered an inclusive and supportive setting for children to demonstrate their progress in the pool. The event encouraged participation at all levels, blending water confidence with imagination and adventure.
Key Stage 2 followed a more traditional format, with students competing in 25m and 50m races across the main strokes. The races highlighted students’ technical development, fitness and determination, and there were some truly impressive performances throughout the week.
The 2025 swimming galas reflected the vibrancy of the BISP community and the value placed on physical education across all ages. Congratulations to all students for their enthusiasm, effort and progress in the water, and a big thank you to the swim coaches, PE staff and supporting teachers who made the week such an enjoyable and memorable experience for both students and parents.
