As the school year draws to a close, BISP’s graduating footballers were given a special opportunity to pause and reflect on the people who have made a meaningful difference in their journey. Organised by the BISP Cruzeiro Academy, Appreciation Day invited our Year 13 footballers to celebrate the educators and staff members who have supported, inspired and guided them beyond the pitch and the classroom. As they prepare for life after school, this initiative encourages students to recognise the lasting connections that have helped shape who they are today.

Each of the 19 graduating football academy students selected one current staff member who had supported, inspired or influenced them in a way they will carry with them long after leaving school. From boarding parents and house staff to classroom teachers and mentors, the selections reflected the broad network of support that surrounds our students.

Some chose staff who helped them feel at home during difficult transitions, while others acknowledged those who guided their personal growth, encouraged curiosity or simply offered steady kindness and care. For many, it was a chance to thank the people who quietly made a difference – listening, advising or showing up consistently throughout their time at BISP.

The small but meaningful celebration brought students and their selected educators together to share brief speeches, present personal letters and gifts, and express their gratitude with sincerity and pride.

In a school shaped by many cultures, voices and experiences, Appreciation Day served as a reminder of the deep connections built over time and of the people who help our students grow not only as learners but as individuals.
