The Mathematics department at BISP is proud to once again host the FOBISIA Mathematics Codebreaking Challenge, now entering its fourth consecutive year. Originally planned as a one-off event, the challenge has grown into a highlight of the international calendar, attracting thousands of enthusiastic codebreakers from across the globe.

Last year’s competition was our most successful yet, with 125 schools participating from Asia, Europe and the Americas, and an incredible 42,000 leaderboard entries recorded. Students from Year 4 to Year 13 tested their skills on six different levels, from the Spy Challenge and Murder Mystery to the ultimate Test of Genius.

This year’s virtual event promises to be just as exciting, bringing together schools and students who are eager to crack codes, solve puzzles, and rise up the leaderboard.

The competition runs from Monday 22 September to Friday 26 September 2025 and is open to students from Year 4 to Year 13. Teacher solutions are also invited.
