On Wednesday 24 September 2025, BISP will welcome The Well HQ for a full-day programme designed to support girls, staff, coaches and parents in understanding female health and performance.
The Well HQ is a UK-based organisation built on cutting-edge science, expertise and lived experience, with a mission to change the way women and girls are trained. Founded by former Team GB rower Baz Moffat, sports scientist Dr Emma Ross, and NHS GP Dr Bella Smith, The Well HQ works internationally with schools, clubs and organisations to improve education, policy and resources for women in sport.
The day’s workshops will cover topics that are often overlooked but crucial to female health and wellbeing. Sessions include:

10:40–11:40 | Reduce Injury Risk in Girls | Why girls are more prone to joint injuries post-puberty, with tips on how to reduce injury risks, maintain pelvic floor health, and understand concussion risks | PE Staff and Coaches |
11:45–12:45 | Menstrual Cycle Workshop | Understanding the menstrual cycle beyond periods – hormonal changes, your cycle as a superpower & managing troublesome symptoms | All Secondary Girls, PE staff, Coaches and Parents |
1:30–2:35 | Bladders, Bowels & Pelvic Health | A normalising discussion on bladder, bowel, and pelvic health. Tackling taboos and addressing issues that hinder participation and performance | HP Girls, BTEC Girls, Coaches and Parents |
2:40–3:40 | Menopause session for staff | An overview of menopause, managing symptoms, supporting staff through this stage of life, and how to retain midlife women in the workplace. | All Staff and Parents |
