Year 6 students have been diving into the fascinating world of the human body, with a special focus on the heart and circulatory system, during their Enquiry lessons. As part of their learning, Year 6 students visited the Secondary Science labs for an exciting hands-on session led by Mrs Willis, Ms Coyle and Mrs Davenport.
The students had the incredible opportunity to dissect pig hearts, helping them understand the structure and function of one of the body’s most important organs. With curiosity and care, they explored the heart’s chambers, valves and blood vessels, deepening their understanding of how the circulatory system works and making real-life connections to what they’ve been learning in class.
This hands-on experience brought science to life in an exciting and memorable way. It was a brilliant example of inter-school collaboration and a fantastic way to enrich our enquiry-based curriculum.
