As part of this year’s much-anticipated Animals Enquiry Unit, our Year 2 students visited a local elephant sanctuary at the start of the academic year.
The trip gave students a chance to learn more about the lives and habitats of elephants, with a particular focus on rescue and rehabilitation. Guided by the sanctuary’s experienced staff, children observed the elephants in their natural surroundings and discovered how the sanctuary helps care for animals that have been rescued from difficult circumstances.
It was a memorable day that encouraged thoughtful conversations about empathy, responsibility, and the ways in which humans and animals share the world.
