The Maths Wizards activity is giving Year 7 and 8 students the chance to strengthen their problem-solving skills and take their mathematical thinking to the next level.

This after-school ECA moves beyond the routine curriculum by focusing on deepening problem-solving strategies, encouraging creative and lateral thinking, and building confidence in tackling complex, non-standard problems. These skills not only prepare students for success in international and regional competitions, but also equip them with tools that will serve them well in future academic pursuits and in life.

The programme also offers targeted preparation for prestigious competitions such as the Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad (SEAMO), Kangaroo Math Contest, UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT) Challenges, and FOBISIA (Federation of British International Schools in Asia) events.

Sessions take place every Thursday after school and are occasionally supported by enthusiastic Year 12 and 13 IB students, who share their knowledge and inspire younger peers through collaborative learning.
