At BISP, we believe that music is not only an art form but also a powerful part of learning and growth. Our Early Years and Primary Music Department provides every child with the opportunity to discover their voice, explore instruments and build confidence through performance.
From as young as two, children at BISP are introduced to music as part of their everyday learning. Singing, movement and rhythm activities nurture curiosity, creativity and joy while helping our youngest learners to engage confidently with sound and expression.
As children move into Primary, their musical experiences expand with focused vocal lessons and opportunities to explore a wide variety of instruments in the classroom. This hands-on approach encourages exploration, collaboration and an appreciation of music as part of a well-rounded education.
Performance is an important part of our music programme. From informal lunchtime concerts to class presentations, recitals and larger productions, every child has the chance to share their achievements with others. These experiences help to build confidence and foster a strong sense of community.
Research shows that engaging with music strengthens brain functions that support learning in subjects such as maths and language. By making music a central part of school life, we aim to nurture young talent and inspire a passion for music that can last a lifetime.
