BISP’s BTEC Sport students recently travelled to Maraleina Sports Resort in Samui for a specialised training programme focused on Unit 27: Fitness Testing for Sport and Exercise. Designed to provide hands-on opportunities to apply classroom theory in real-world contexts, the trip proved highly valuable for both academic and personal growth.
Working in a professional sporting environment with access to state-of-the-art facilities, students conducted a range of health screenings and performance tests. These practical sessions reinforced their knowledge of protocols and procedures while helping them to build confidence in carrying out and evaluating assessments. The experience directly supported their coursework for Unit 27.
Staff accompanying the trip praised the group’s productivity and enthusiasm. Students worked diligently to complete their testing and record results, showing a strong ability to translate theory into practice. Their commitment and teamwork throughout the programme highlighted their readiness for the demands of the sports and exercise industry.
Special thanks go to the team at Maraleina Sports Resort, whose excellent facilities and warm hospitality created the ideal environment for learning. Their professional support and attention to detail ensured that the programme ran smoothly and that students gained maximum value from this unique opportunity.
