Five talented BISP students recently represented the school at the Botanica Art Collection: Chromatic Nature, a unique event that brought together young artists from schools across Phuket to celebrate creativity, imagination and the beauty of nature through art.

Before the competition, students were invited to an exclusive viewing of the Botanica Art Collection at the Botanical Villa owner’s private gallery. During the guided session, each student selected a piece of artwork that resonated with them, using it as inspiration for an original piece they would create the following day.

Representing BISP were Yuan, Elina, Maya, Sofia and Katie, selected from the school’s Year 10 and Year 12 IGCSE and IB Visual Arts classes for their artistic ability and their confidence in working creatively under time constraints. Drawing inspiration from a diverse collection of contemporary artworks, the students were challenged to interpret their chosen piece in their own way, creating original paintings that reflected both technical skill and personal expression.

The competition celebrated far more than artistic talent. It encouraged students to observe, reflect and transform inspiration into something uniquely their own, while also providing an opportunity to meet and connect with fellow young artists from across the island.

BISP students achieved outstanding results, with Yuan (Year 12) being awarded First Place, receiving the competition trophy, certificate and a 5,000 Baht cash prize. Fellow finalist Elina also delivered an exceptional performance, finishing Fourth Place and receiving a 1,000 Baht cash prize.

Congratulations also go to Maya, Sofia and Katie, whose creativity, dedication and enthusiasm contributed to a fantastic representation of BISP throughout the event.

Finally, we would like to thank Botanical Vill   a for hosting such a memorable and inspiring event. Providing young artists with the opportunity to experience a professional art collection, connect with students from other schools and create work in response to established artists is an invaluable experience. We hope this wonderful initiative continues to grow, inspiring many more young creatives across Phuket for years to come.
