The past few weeks have brought fantastic results for the BISP Sea Eagles High Performance Tennis Team. Our athletes have competed in top-level events across Thailand and Asia, achieving personal bests and proudly representing the school.
Puthi teamed up with Pao to win the J100 Wuhan doubles title and delivered one of the highlights of the season at the J300 LTAT, where he defeated world No. 25 ITF Donghyun Hwang of Korea. He has now reached a career-best ranking of 234 ITF.
Jinny also impressed at the J30 Vietnam, reaching the semi-finals and moving up to an ITF ranking of 1630. Most notably, she was selected to represent Thailand at the Billie Jean King Cup Juniors Under 16 in Kazakhstan, a remarkable achievement.
Pao showed great consistency across three weeks of ITF competition. He claimed the doubles title at the J100 Wuhan and earned key singles wins over higher-ranked players. His ITF ranking now stands at a career-high of 477.
Leia had an outstanding run, winning both the Under 16 Singles and Doubles titles at the King’s Cup, the most prestigious junior tournament in Thailand. She also reached the semi-finals at the J30 Vietnam, improving her ITF ranking to 1676, and wrapped up the period with a title at the PTT Tournament in Thanyapura following another strong set of performances.
Pine worked his way through qualifying at the J300 Kuching and pushed his main-draw opponent to three tight sets. He now holds a personal-best ITF ranking of 588.
Rob made a remarkable return to competition after recovering from back surgery last year. Through hard work and determination, he found his rhythm again and went on to win the Singles title at the Singapore Open, showing not only a high level of tennis but also great resilience and patience on his journey back to the court.
Viki fought hard at the PTT Tournament in Thanyapura, delivering strong performances and reaching the final, where she narrowly lost a close second set against her teammate Leia.
Ig has not competed in recent weeks but reached a personal-best ITF ranking of 740 in March, a reflection of her steady development and consistent work throughout the season.
“We are incredibly proud of our players for their outstanding performances, breakthroughs and resilience. From national titles to international wins and career-high rankings, they continue to raise the bar and represent BISP with excellence on and off the court,” said Coach Victor, BISP Tennis Academy Head of High-Performance.
BISP congratulates all athletes for their dedication and achievements. We are proud to support their continued growth as both students and athletes, and we look forward to what lies ahead in their sporting journeys.
