British International School, Phuket (BISP) has welcomed three new staff members to its Sports team.

Charlie Pike has been appointed as the new Aquatics Director, bringing a wealth of international swim coaching and administrative experience spanning more than two decades. Charlie has coached at both age-group and collegiate level in the US, and most recently was Associate Head Coach and Aquatics Coordinator at Thanyapura Health and Sports Resort.

Coach Charlie will be responsible for developing the school’s swimming strategy and leading our 10-strong team of swim coaches.

“I’m looking forward to being back in a school environment and helping to continue to move the BISP swimming programme in a positive direction,” he said.

Also joining the team is Brian Ross as the school’s first Strength and Conditioning Coach. Coach Brian will design and implement sports-specific strength training and conditioning programmes for BISP teams and athletes, conduct sports-specific testing, and provide guidance regarding nutrition and injury prevention. He will also run high-intensity training sessions for staff and parents.

Zoe Blair has been appointed in the new role of Physical Trainer. Before moving to Thailand, Coach Zoe worked as an educator and practitioner in various settings, including sports trusts, clubs, universities and schools in the UK, New Zealand, Cambodia and Laos. Coach Zoe will advise and support BISP students in the important area of injury prevention and management. For more information, please email [email protected].
