Miyuka has been part of the BISP community since 2014, starting in Year 3. Over the years, she has grown into a confident, passionate leader with a deep commitment to creating positive change. She has been accepted to numerous top international universities, including King’s College London, University College London, the University of Warwick (where she was awarded a half-tuition scholarship), the University of Bristol, the University of Toronto with scholarships to study Neuroscience, and IE University with scholarships to study Business and International Relations.
She has chosen to attend Wesleyan University in the United States, where she was awarded the prestigious Freeman Asian Scholarship, a full-ride scholarship given to only 11 incoming students each year. At Wesleyan, she will pursue a double major in Neuroscience and Economics, alongside specialised coursework in Entrepreneurship. This path reflects both her scientific curiosity and her drive to create social impact.
Her extended essay at BISP sparked her interest in neuroscience, while the breadth of the IBDP and its global perspective drew her toward the liberal arts model. Through her leadership roles, Miyuka discovered a passion for collaborative, project-based initiatives and international dialogue.
Throughout Senior School, Miyuka served as Deputy Head Student, Head of Events and Service, a leader on the Eco Committee and a member of the Peer Support Group. One of her most memorable experiences was organising the Charity Ball, which brought the school community together for a shared cause. A high-performance aerialist, she also balanced her creative and athletic pursuits with academic excellence, developing focus, discipline and teamwork.
Looking ahead, Miyuka is excited to continue her global education and use her learning to drive meaningful change. While she will miss the beauty of Phuket and the vibrant BISP campus, it is the people, including teachers, friends and mentors, who left the deepest mark and made BISP a second home.
