The 2024–25 academic year saw the continued success of BISP’s Art for Service initiatives, with students using their creative talents to support meaningful causes and make a lasting impact in the local community. One of the most heartfelt efforts this year was the schoolwide Animal Welfare Drive, which united Primary and Secondary students, staff and families around a shared cause.
Creative contributions for a cause
This year’s campaign featured a wonderful addition from Year 9 student Elina, whose cat-inspired artwork captured attention and helped raise vital funds for local animal shelters. Her creativity not only boosted event sales but also highlighted the power of art as a vehicle for advocacy and action. Proceeds from her work helped cover veterinary expenses for Rawai Animal Lovers (RAL) and contributed to the purchase of six boxes of canned food for the Phuket Stray Dog Shelter.
Working together for animal welfare
The drive brought together efforts across the school, with students and staff contributing time, resources and care to support the initiative. CAS students from Year 12 and Year 13 played a key logistical role, personally transporting donations to the shelter early on a Saturday morning. Their actions reflected the values of teamwork, service and responsibility that underpin the CAS programme and the wider BISP ethos.
Community impact and gratitude
All funds and collected goods were distributed between RAL and the Phuket Stray Dog Shelter, both of which care for hundreds of animals each day. The support from the BISP community provided essential relief and reinforced the importance of ongoing partnerships with local organisations dedicated to animal welfare.
BISP extends sincere thanks to every student, staff member and parent who contributed to this year’s Animal Welfare Drive. Through art, service and collaboration, the BISP community continues to lead with empathy and purpose.
