The BTEC International Level 3 Diploma in Business is now underway at BISP, offering students a practical, hands-on approach to studying business and preparing for future university and career pathways.
Bringing Business into the Real World
A key part of the programme is giving students opportunities to apply what they learn in the classroom to real-world business situations.
BISP has developed partnerships with local businesses in Phuket, particularly within the hospitality industry, creating opportunities for students to take part in excursions, see businesses in operation and learn directly from industry professionals. Business leaders will also visit BISP as guest speakers, sharing their knowledge and experience with students.
As part of the BTEC here at BISP, we want our students learning outside the classroom, and I think that’s what’s going to really make a difference, Mark explains.
Developing Skills for the Future
Unlike pathways that rely heavily on examinations, BTEC Business is predominantly assessed through coursework. This approach particularly suits students who enjoy practical learning and applying their knowledge to real business situations.
Throughout the programme, students develop skills including problem-solving, leadership, decision-making, communication and organisation, while learning to manage their work and meet deadlines.
Students also benefit from a dedicated Business classroom and access to the new Year 12 and 13 Study Centre, providing spaces for both collaborative and independent learning.
The qualification can lead to further study in Business and related subjects at university, as well as future careers across areas including finance, marketing, human resources, operations and management.
