Year 4 Thai Trip: Discovering Wat Chalong

On Monday, March 18th, 2024, the Year 4 students embarked on a journey to Chaitararam Temple, more commonly known as Wat Chalong. This iconic temple holds immense cultural significance as the most important and renowned temple in Phuket province. During their visit, students delved into the teachings of Buddhism, explored the sacred stories embedded within the temple’s walls, and gained insights into traditional medicine practices.

One of the highlights of the trip was learning about Luang Pho Chaem, a revered figure whose spiritual presence continues to provide support to the people of Phuket. Wat Chalong’s timeless appeal also attracts visitors from around the globe, showcasing the universal reverence for this spiritual sanctuary.

Year 3 Thai Trip: Unveiling Phuket’s Mining Legacy

On Wednesday, March 20, 2024, the Year 3 students embarked on an educational expedition to the Phuket Mining Museum. This excursion offered a unique glimpse into Phuket’s history, focusing on the Chinese ethnic group’s contributions and the region’s rich tin mining heritage.

At the museum, students immersed themselves in the intricacies of tin mining, understanding the laborious process and its impact on Phuket’s development. They also explored the lifestyle of Chinese immigrants during the era, gaining a deeper appreciation for their cultural influences. The trip not only enhanced their historical knowledge but also shed light on the origins of Phuket’s iconic Vegetarian Festival.
