Learning in Upper Primary at BISP takes many forms. Sometimes it means gathering in a brand-new collaborative space, and other times it means heading outdoors for hands-on discovery. Both approaches reflect our Triple Helix philosophy, where Learning, Wellbeing and Passion are interdependent strands of a balanced education.
This term, students and teachers are excited to explore a new Upper Primary learning space, designed to support collaboration, creativity and curiosity. The area provides flexible zones where students can work together, share ideas and develop the skills they need to become confident, independent learners. Watch the video here.
At BISP, we believe learning happens everywhere: in purpose-built classrooms, in shared collaborative areas, and in the outdoors. Each environment gives students a different way to explore, problem-solve and connect ideas.
A great example is how Year 6 launched their latest enquiry-based learning unit on Ancient Greece. Students became archaeologists for the day in the sandpit area, digging up artefacts and working as a team to piece them back together. Back in the classroom, they decoded the clues they had uncovered, sparking real excitement for their new enquiry-based learning topic on Ancient Greece: How have the Ancient Greeks influenced our world today?
Whether in a well-equipped learning space or through experiential learning outdoors, Upper Primary at BISP is about much more than acquiring knowledge. It is about nurturing independence, teamwork and curiosity, equipping students with the skills to make sense of the world and preparing them to thrive.
