In the lead-up to Christmas, the BISP Primary Student Council demonstrated outstanding compassion, leadership and community spirit through a student-led Christmas Cheer campaign. With the simple aim of bringing joy to children in Phuket who might otherwise go without a gift at Christmas, our youngest leaders rallied the school community around a powerful message of kindness and giving. What followed was an incredible response that exceeded all expectations.
From the BISP Primary Student Council:
In the weeks leading up to Christmas, we organised a campaign to donate Christmas presents to underprivileged children in Phuket who were not expecting to receive anything for Christmas. Our original goal was to support 100 children. We wrote to you asking for your help to make a small difference for children who are not as lucky as we are.
We are extremely pleased to share that we collected close to 300 Christmas Cheer Boxes from our amazing school community. This meant we were able to help many more children than we had originally planned. Thank you to everyone who took the time to prepare a box and donate it to our campaign. You helped make a real difference to the lives of children our age and brought them some much-needed Christmas cheer.
Because we received so many more boxes than expected, we were able to support children from the following organisations:
- Thai Child Development Foundation (TCDF) (40 boxes)
- Asia Centre Foundation (49 boxes)
- Phuket Special School (127 boxes)
- Baan Jo School (46 boxes)
As they do every year, our kind teachers also worked with the Child Watch Phuket Foundation and TCDF to donate an additional 113 gifts to children in need.
We would like to thank you all for your unwavering support and generosity in making this campaign such a success. The children gratefully received your gifts and enjoyed a happy and exciting Christmas. We could not have achieved this without you, and we are truly thankful.
Your help has brought smiles to many children’s faces this Christmas, and we appreciate it more than we can say.
Thank you!
