What makes snakes so well adapted to their surroundings, and how can we stay safe when we encounter them? These were some of the questions explored when Wonders in Nature returned to BISP for a special session with our Year 2 students.
The visit formed part of the children’s Habitat Hunters Enquiry, which focuses on animals native to Phuket, their habitats, diets, appearance and the adaptations that help them survive in their natural environments.
During the session, Michael from Wonders in Nature introduced students to the fascinating world of snakes, helping them build a better understanding of these reptiles and their place in Phuket’s local ecosystems.
An important part of the visit was learning how to behave safely around snakes. Michael shared practical advice to help children understand the importance of respecting wildlife and keeping a safe distance when encountering snakes in their natural habitats.
The experience brought the children’s classroom learning to life, connecting their Enquiry work with the animals and environments found right here in Phuket.
Thank you to Michael and the Wonders in Nature team for returning to BISP and helping our young learners discover more about the wildlife that surrounds them!
