BISP is thrilled to welcome Steven Caulker to our campus for an inspiring presentation with our senior school students.

Steven enjoyed a remarkable professional football career that began as a youth player at Tottenham Hotspur and progressed to the Premier League, where he represented some of England’s biggest clubs. Over a 17-year career, he played for teams including Spurs, Cardiff City, Queens Park Rangers, Liverpool, Swansea, Southampton and more, gaining experience across five countries and elite competitions.

A standout moment in Steven’s career came when he scored on his debut for the England national team in 2012 — a rare achievement for a defender. He later went on to captain Sierra Leone’s senior national team, bringing leadership and pride to his international journey.

Steven’s story extends far beyond football. He has spoken openly and courageously about the personal challenges he faced, including mental health struggles and addiction, and how overcoming these shaped him both on and off the pitch. His honesty and resilience have made him a powerful advocate for wellbeing, perseverance, and personal growth.

Since retiring from professional football in December 2025, Steven has focused on coaching, mentoring young athletes, and sharing his experiences to inspire the next generation. He now works closely with young people, encouraging them to pursue their goals with integrity, resilience, and self-belief.

We look forward to welcoming Steven and hearing his powerful story, a truly exciting opportunity for our students to learn from someone who has experienced both the highs and lows of elite sport.
