There was a real buzz of energy across the Primary School as students came together to take part in the FOBISIA Primary Maths TT Rockstars Competition. Over three days, classrooms, pods and morning sessions were filled with focused determination, quick thinking and plenty of enthusiasm for times tables.

The competition followed a “Top of the Rocks” format, where pupils earned points for every correctly answered question. With only the first 20 minutes of gameplay each day counting towards the final score, it was all about consistency, accuracy and making every second count. Thanks to a strong collective effort, BISP secured an impressive 5th place out of 65 schools — a fantastic achievement that reflects the commitment of our entire Primary community.

In total, BISP students answered an incredible 248,231 times tables questions correctly over the course of the competition. This remarkable figure highlights not only their hard work, but also their willingness to challenge themselves and contribute to a shared goal.

A special mention goes to Class 5FW, who achieved the highest class average, followed closely by 6SL in second place and 5CM in third. Individually, Ethan Lim, Nond, and Daniel Ong led the way, securing the top three spots among BISP students.

What stood out most throughout the competition was the sense of teamwork. Teachers supported participation by setting aside time during the school day, whether as part of morning routines, lesson starters or homework activities. This collective approach ensured that as many students as possible could contribute, reinforcing the idea that every effort counted.

The FOBISIA TT Rockstars Competition is designed to promote both engagement and fairness, with averaged scores ensuring a level playing field for schools of all sizes. While the ultimate prize is awarded to the school with the highest average score, the true success lies in the learning, participation and shared experience along the way.

Well done to all of our students for their enthusiasm and dedication, and thank you to everyone who supported this fantastic team effort. Certificates for top performers will be shared soon, and further competition statistics can be explored via the TT Rockstars tournament page.

A brilliant example of what can be achieved when a community comes together and gives it their all.
