BISP is celebrating the success of IGCSE Year 11 student Kai Weinstock, who recently achieved second place in the Key Stage 4–5 FOBISIA “Being Human” Creative Writing Competition.
The regional competition brought together talented young writers from FOBISIA schools across Asia, challenging students to explore the theme of what it means to be human through original creative writing.
Kai’s story stood out for its thoughtful and timely exploration of creativity in the modern world. The piece follows a songwriter struggling with writer’s block who turns to artificial intelligence for inspiration, only to discover that the results feel empty and disconnected. The emotional turning point of the story comes when an old photograph helps reignite his own authentic creative spark.
“The judges were particularly impressed by the sense of energy and the driving passion for music Kai brought to the page”
Securing second place in such a competitive regional field is a remarkable achievement and reflects Kai’s creativity, insight, and strong writing ability.
Congratulations to Kai on this outstanding accomplishment.
