As part of their Enquiry learning and Literacy studies, Year 5 students recently visited Layan Beach in Sirinat National Park to take part in a beach clean-up inspired by their class text, The Paper Bag Prince.
The visit provided students with the opportunity to connect their classroom learning with real-world action, encouraging them to reflect on the importance of caring for the environment and the positive difference individuals can make within their communities.
Working together, the students collected an impressive 30 large bags of rubbish in under an hour, helping to protect the local coastline and its wildlife while gaining a deeper understanding of environmental responsibility.
Throughout the activity, the Year 5 students demonstrated outstanding teamwork, determination and enthusiasm. Their positive attitude and commitment to making a meaningful contribution were evident from start to finish.
Experiences such as this are an important part of learning at BISP, giving students opportunities to develop compassion, responsibility and global citizenship beyond the classroom.
Well done to all of our Year 5 students for their fantastic effort and for helping to keep Phuket’s beautiful coastline clean.
