BISP officially opened its new Senior School Study Centre today, welcoming students, parents, staff and invited guests to explore a modern new learning environment designed to support the academic experience of Senior School students.
The opening comes at an exciting time for the school, as BISP prepares to welcome students back for the 2026/27 academic year while celebrating its 30th anniversary. Three decades after BISP first opened its doors in 1996, the new centre reflects the school’s continued investment in spaces that respond to the changing needs of students and the way they learn.
BISP CEO Dr Apiramon Ourairat officially opened the centre alongside Mr Duke Theerathada CBS, members of the AOI Board and Executive Committee, senior school leaders, colleagues, parents and students. The school was also pleased to welcome representatives from the Phuket education community, including Ms Panna Promwichian, Director of the Phuket Provincial Education Office, Education Officer Ms Nitthaka Chuchuen, and Human Resources Officers Mr Jirayut Ruamsuk and Ms Pannarat Chairat.
A Space Designed Around Students
The new Senior School Study Centre provides students with a variety of spaces for independent study, group work and collaboration, as well as quieter areas where they can concentrate and work comfortably. Its flexible design allows students to choose an environment that best suits what they are working on and how they prefer to learn.
The centre will also be home to BISP’s University Counsellors, bringing academic study and future planning together in one environment. Students will be able to access guidance and support as they explore university options, applications, careers and the many pathways available to them beyond BISP.
More than simply providing additional study space, the centre has been created as somewhere students can spend time throughout the school day, exchange ideas, work alongside their peers and take greater ownership of their learning.
Looking Ahead
The Senior School Study Centre is the first stage of a wider Learning Hub for the Secondary School, with a second phase planned for the space above the centre. As the project continues to develop, the Learning Hub will provide further opportunities for students to learn, collaborate and connect within the Senior School.
Opening the centre during BISP’s 30th anniversary year provides a fitting connection between the school’s history and its future. While much has changed since BISP was established in 1996, the focus remains firmly on creating opportunities and environments that enable students to learn, grow and thrive.
We look forward to welcoming students into the new Senior School Study Centre and seeing how they make this exciting new space their own.
