BISP student Chiara recently achieved an outstanding result at the IRONMAN Sprint Triathlon Desaru, finishing first overall in what she describes as an unforgettable race experience.

Held alongside the IRONMAN 70.3 Desaru Coast, the event brought together athletes from across the region for a high-energy weekend of competition. Chiara led from the start, exiting the swim in first place and maintaining her lead through the bike and run segments. She completed the course in an impressive time of 1:17:48, recording the second-fastest bike split and the fastest run of the day.

“The race was an unforgettable and amazing experience. The atmosphere on race day was just fantastic. Over the moon with my result, for my first time racing an Ironman sprint triathlon, crossing the finish line as the first person (male & female) made it all even more special. My consistent daily training paid off and I’m really proud of how I was able to execute my goals and excited to carry this momentum into my next races. Having the lead motorbike in front made me push even harder to ensure the gap I created at the swim, extended on the bike and on the run leaving my closest competitor (male) 9 minutes behind”, Chiara shared.

Chiara returns to training with renewed motivation and is already looking ahead to her next challenges. We’re proud of her determination, discipline and achievement, and look forward to following her journey in the races to come.
