This year’s Early Years Sports Day was filled with energy, excitement, and confident young movers as our Nursery and Reception children proudly showed that “We are Super Sports – Super Sports are ready for action!”

The purpose of the event was simple and meaningful: to showcase how Early Years students are developing fundamental movement skills as they prepare for the transition into Key Stage 1. Throughout the morning, students demonstrated key athletic foundations including running, jumping, hopping, landing, throwing, balancing, kicking, and coordination through a series of fun, structured activity stations.

The Early Years students took part in a selection of fun activities such as cannonball kick, U-Turn sprint, target throwing and rope rescue, to name a few.

Classes moved together through the event rotations, led by their teachers and teaching assistants, ensuring children felt secure and ready at every station. Parents cheered from designated viewing areas, helping to maintain focus while still celebrating the children’s efforts.

Most importantly, every child participated with enthusiasm and determination. Each student received a participation ribbon in recognition of their effort, and fruit-flavoured ice blocks were enjoyed back in class as a well-deserved treat.

Well done to all of our Super Sports for showing such fantastic listening, teamwork, and readiness for action. We are proud of the progress they are making as they continue their journey towards Key Stage 1.
