On Friday 13 March, twelve students from Years 7 to 9 represented BISP at the annual Phuket Island Maths Competition (PIMC), hosted at UWC Thailand.
The competition brought together students from schools across the island for a full day of mathematical problem-solving and collaboration. Participants competed in mixed-school teams of four, working through four challenging rounds: Maths Trail, Crossnumber, Codebreaker, and Puzzle. Each round required a combination of logical thinking, teamwork, and creativity, providing students with a dynamic and engaging experience beyond the classroom.
A special congratulations goes to Ulyana (Year 9), who was part of the overall winning team, an excellent achievement in a highly competitive field. All of our students represented BISP admirably throughout the day. Beyond the competition itself, the event also provided a valuable opportunity to connect with peers from other schools, with many new friendships formed along the way.
Well done to Aliyah, Arthur, Serene, Taa, Aryan, George, Pangpon, Taisiia, Kouma, Mateo, Ting Ting, and Ulyana for their participation and efforts.
