At BISP, success is about more than just exam results – it is about cultivating a lifelong love of learning and building the mindset, motivation, and resilience to thrive. As part of Upper School’s second Wellbeing Day of the academic year, we were delighted to welcome back Mr Alan Yip, renowned Master Trainer, Elite Performance Coach, and two-time Memory Power record holder.
This year’s programme included both Year 10 and Year 11 students, emphasising the importance of preparing early for the challenges of IGCSE and beyond. Mr Yip’s IGCSE Masterclasses took a holistic approach to success, equipping students with proven strategies to learn smarter, prepare effectively, and manage stress to maintain both physical and mental wellbeing.
He led a special Mock Examination preparation session for Year 11, focusing on time management, focus, and high-impact revision techniques. Meanwhile, Year 10 students benefited from an engaging introduction to IGCSE study skills, helping them to establish strong learning habits and the right mindset as they begin their examination course journey.
Throughout his sessions, Mr Yip highlighted the value of marginal gains – small, consistent improvements that lead to major progress – and encouraged students to take ownership of their learning with confidence and curiosity.
The feedback from students and staff was overwhelmingly positive, with many describing the sessions as inspiring, practical, and motivating. Mr Yip’s ability to connect performance psychology with highly practical and applicable study techniques again left a lasting impact on our community.
For parents interested in supporting their child’s learning journey, Mr Alan Yip offers personalised coaching and can be contacted at [email protected].
